Life has been tough for us all this past year. I am sure you all have found ways to cope with the uncertainty of the pandemic. Mine way of coping has, and always will be, with my art. I jumped full into my painting this year. Not only was it a relaxing hobby, but I found it therapeutic as well. I guess a lot of other people found it helpful, as the craft paint aisles are frequently bare, and canvases of all sizes are hard to find.

My new favorite technique involves the use of a palette knife. Above is an example. This angel was just painted on a canvas, with no drawing beforehand. It was if she "appeared" to me during her creation. Love it when that happens.

The painting to the right is a more structured approach. I start with a sketch on paper, and then pencil it in on the canvas before applying the colors. The bottom area is a new drip way of applying paint. It was delightful to let the paint have a mind of its own, as it fell down the canvas. I would like to do more of this in the future.

Lastly, above is one of my favorite subjects, roses. Pink is my favorite color, so of course that hue would have a strong place in this design. I have given this one art pencil details as well.

I hope you will stop by again as I begin again my blogging journey. Join me as I show more of my art and even showcase parts of my boho farmhouse home. See you soon. :)
